  training on Wednesday\, April 10 from 6:30-8pm for interested local Paren
 t Mentors who have children with Down syndrome ages 5 and under to be part
  of our program called 'First Call.' Join in person at COhatch Southside W
 orks or virtually via Zoom.\n\nThis program offers new and expectant paren
 ts receiving a diagnosis of Down syndrome the opportunity to connect with 
 trained parent mentors who share the same or similar life circumstances. A
 s a First Call Trained parent mentor\, you would be:\n\n-A trained volunte
 er available to confidentially listen\, share resources\, and provide valu
 able\, current information about Down syndrome\n-A connection and support 
 a new/expectant parent via phone calls\, text\, e-mail\, DMs (direct messa
 ges)\, or whatever is most comfortable\n-Willing to commit to one year of 
 support to a new/expectant parent
